Growing up with his reclusive father on South Australia’s Coorong, young Mike finds friendship with an Aboriginal man he knows as Fingerbone Bill and an orphaned pelican named Mr Percival. Their bond opens his world to the beauty and fragility of the coast, even as the outside world threatens the life they share. Based on Colin Thiele’s novel, the original 1976 Storm Boy is a moving Australian story about friendship, belonging and care for the natural world.
