Chris Cobb Album Launch
Raised on the quiet banks of the Bulolo River in rural Papua New Guinea, Chris’s upbringing was as raw as it was musically diverse. He grew up surrounded by a vast, contrasting mix of sounds—from ancestral chants and local beats to the harmonies of his uncle’s string band and the country music crackling through the two-way radio. This rich exposure to storytelling in its most unfiltered formats became something he deeply absorbed, weaving it entirely into his own artistry.

Scream Feeder @ M|Arts Precinct
They’re the band you grew up with, whose songs are imprinted into the DNA of every music-lover who came of age in the 90’s and 00’s. A band of eternally-youthful fuzz-pop darlings who, however improbably, have continued to play together for 30 years and somehow have not only gotten better, but have become even more loved. A band that combines loud with beautiful, intense with joyous, chaotic with precise and pulls it all together in a way that very few acts ever manage.

Ten years ago Australia ‘stopped the boats’. At the same time a small group of refugees in Indonesia received a $200 donation and started a two-room school.
Husband and wife, Muzafar Ali and Nagina Zahra were co-founders of that first school before being resettled in Adelaide in 2015. Since then the schools in Indonesia have grown. There are now over 1300 refugee students and 130 refugee teachers.

Join us on Wednesday, 15th April at 5 pm for Birth Stories on Stage. This fundraising event will be held at the M-Arts precinct in Murwillumbah, using their beautiful, state-of-the-art stage and facilities.
Tickets are $40, including a complimentary drink and the show. Raffle tickets are also available to purchase with your tickets (see below for more information).
We know that sharing birth stories offers healing to both the storyteller and the audience. Hearing about positive birth experiences can be empowering. Equally, when things don’t go as planned and a mama is brave enough to share her story, it helps other women who might face a similar situation.
We hereby invite you to the theatre to hear a program of stories, poems and drama about birth. We will hear from new mamas, dads and grandmothers, about hospital births, home births, ecstatic birth and unexpected outcomes.
This event is a fundraiser for the Birth Wellness Festival, which will be held in the Spring, details yet to be revealed.
