At Footrot Flats, farm life looks very different through the eyes of Dog, Wal Footrot’s fiercely loyal and frequently exasperated sheepdog. Between keeping an eye on Wal, confronting troublesome neighbours and surviving the chaos of the countryside, Dog has more on his paws than any sensible animal would choose. Murray Ball’s animated adaptation brings his much-loved New Zealand comic strip to the screen with earthy humour, familiar characters and a dog who knows exactly what he thinks of everyone.
